Booking a flight without a credit card in Switzerland

Which payment methods bookpink.ch offers

In the payment step you choose one of three payment methods. You pay in Swiss francs on the secure payment page of Worldline Saferpay.

• TWINT: you confirm the payment in your TWINT app, and the account or credit you have set up there is charged. You book on bookpink.ch, not in the app. More on Pay with TWINT.
• Reka: you pay with the credit on your Reka card, which many employers offer at a discount. More on Pay with Reka.
• Card: Visa, Mastercard or American Express, and on the payment page also via Apple Pay or Google Pay.

You pay for a booking with one payment method. Depending on the method, a payment fee may be added; it is shown in the payment step before you confirm. For flights, our service fee is already included in the price shown.

What the TWINT limits mean for a flight

TWINT can also be used for larger amounts. How much depends on your TWINT app: payments are subject to daily and monthly limits, similar to a debit card. They differ from app to app, so from bank to bank, and in some apps you can adjust them yourself.

In the TWINT prepaid app, your credit also counts: it may never exceed 3,000 francs, and you can spend at most 10,000 francs per month. A flight costing more than 3,000 francs therefore cannot be paid in one payment with the prepaid app.

Check your limit in the app or with your bank before a large booking. If it is not enough, TWINT declines the payment. You can then raise the limit, where your app allows it, or choose another payment method.

What the Reka limits mean

With Reka you can pay at most what is in your Reka account; it cannot be overdrawn. Nor can a booking be split between Reka and a second payment method. If your credit does not cover the whole flight, choose another payment method.

Online, only a Reka card in your name or one you have registered on reka.ch works. An unregistered card bought in a shop can only be used at the till.

For large amounts, Reka checks your identity: anyone who spends more than 5,000 francs of Reka money in a calendar month or more than 25,000 francs in a calendar year is verified in line with the Swiss Anti-Money Laundering Act.

When you still need a card

• Never for booking on bookpink.ch: a credit card is needed neither for the flight nor as a guarantee. More on Book without a credit card.
• At the hotel, your booking is already paid when you arrive; you only show the confirmation. Some hotels ask for a card for extras such as the minibar or room service; that is up to the hotel. Local charges such as the city tax may be payable on site, depending on the place.
• For a rental car at your destination, the rental company may ask for a card at pick-up to cover extra costs. Check with the rental company before you travel.

How to book your flight without a credit card

   Enter departure, destination and travel dates. The price in the search is the final price in francs.

   Baggage and the rules for changes and refunds are shown with the offer before you book.

   Enter the travellers

   Names exactly as in the passport, plus each person’s date of birth.

   Choose TWINT or Reka

   In the payment step, choose the payment method and confirm on the payment page, with TWINT in your TWINT app.

   Receive the confirmation

   The confirmation arrives by email, with the e-ticket attached as a PDF or shortly afterwards. Please do not pay a second time.
